Home Water Quality Test Kit: Frequently Asked Questions
Are test strips reliable?
Test strips have been used in the medical field for more than half a century for blood and urine testing. Their reliability has improved to where test strips are now being used in hospitals, doctor's offices, and homes for diagnostic and monitoring purposes. Similarly, we have taken this concept and developed new technology, as seen in the SenSafe™(aperture) product line, so that testing for ions with greater sensitivity and accuracy is possible. All our products have been developed specifically for ground and drinking water testing.
Can I trust SenSafe™ and Waterworks™ test results?
These products have been made with the utmost care and attention using manufacturing procedures that minimize lot to lot variation. Quality Control testing of each lot confirms that the product performs property at time of manufacture before the lot is released for sale. Shelf life data has been determined by careful testing to assure that performance of product lasts the duration of the shelf life claims. In addition, independent certified laboratories have confirmed the performance claims of these products.
Can test strips be trusted to be accurate?
Detection sensitivity is dependent on methodology: that is, if you vary the test procedure, the accuracy and sensitivity can be compromised. This is true for all testing methods, including test strips. Since SenSafe's unique test method is straight-forward and simple, variation due to procedure becomes less significant, making detection more accurate. If you follow the procedures carefully, your results will be valid for accurate assessment of your tap water.
What about the safety of test strips?
The chemicals in each test strip amount to about 3% of the chemicals when compared to powder pillow/wet-chemical test methods. All chemicals used pose no significant danger or hazard as long as test procedures and precautions are followed.
