How long does the PureMaster V-750 Whole House System last?
The unit is designed to be used for about 750,000 gallons or over 7 years, whichever occurs first. The saturation of the media by contaminants may occur faster in different areas depending upon the condition of the water and the actual amount of water run through the filter on a daily basis. Generally, it is recommended that the unit be replaced when there is a noticeable return of off-tastes or odors and/or noticeable drop in water pressure (assuming a reasonably clean .35-micron prefilter is currently in use).
What is the difference between the PureMaster V-750 and our previous whole house systems?
We are no longer manufacturing or selling our previous Equinox™ Premium whole house water filtration system. Our previous whole house water filtration system utilized two blue tanks in a vertical stacked configuration. Our PureMaster V-750 easily replaces the older whole house water filtration systems previously sold by Vitasalus/Equinox Products, including 3 yr./300,000 gal. or 5 yr./400,000 gal. Equinox Premium whole house water filtration systems. The higher-capacity PureMaster V-750 is ONLY available Factory Direct through Vitasalus™/Equinox Products, and was developed in a continued effort to keep up with increasing water contaminants, latest water filtration technology, and media advancements.
Ultimately, our goal is to provide the highest quality system on the market at the most affordable price. Because we've incorporated more water filtration media (now premium grade) along with advanced proprietary media layering techniques to our PureMaster V-750, it is designed to address even more contaminants and perform for approximately 750,000 gallons or over 7 years. The older, lower-capacity systems sold by Vitasalus/Equinox Products were only designed to perform for either 300,000 gallons/3 years or 400,000 gallons/5 years. Please refer to the PureMaster V-750 Specifications Chart below for more detailed information..
How often should I change the .35-micron prefilter on my PureMaster V-750 system?
Approximately every 6 months, depending upon the actual amount of sediment or particulate matter present in your water supply. Because the .35-micron prefilter (white in color when first installed) is in a clear screw-on prefilter canister, it can easily be visually checked for dirtiness or build-up of sediment or particulate matter. Typically, when a .35-micron prefilter is extremely dirty, there will be a noticeable drop in water pressure through the PureMaster V-750 system since the water is no longer able to properly flow through it.
Does the PureMaster V-750 remove COPEPODS from the water?
Yes. Since copepods range from 30 microns to 50 microns in size, the V-750 0.35-micron(sub 1-micron) prefilter will remove the copepods. This method of copepod filtration is approved based on the article found at http://www.oukosher.org via the below link:

How much space does the complete PureMaster V-750 installation typically require?
Requires minimal installation space, an area approximately 6-feet high by 3-feet wide by 1-foot deep.
Where should the complete PureMaster V-750 system be installed?
The PureMaster V-750 system is a Point-of-Entry (POE) system, or whole-house/whole home system, and is usually installed, just after the water meter, in your basement, garage, or water heater closet. Note: The water meter is usually located in the basement of the house. In warm weather climates, the water meter may be in the garage or outside of the house. If the PureMaster V-750 system is installed outdoors in warm weather climates, it should be adequately shaded to prevent excessive sunlight/heat exposure.
How difficult is it to install the complete PureMaster V-750 system?
The PureMaster V-750 system will be shipped Pre-Assembled (tanks come pre-loaded with special media) and Ready-To-Install which greatly simplifies the installation process and significantly reduces installation time and cost. The installation of the PureMaster V-750 system, using the included installation instructions, is simple and straight-forward and should be preformed by a licensed plumber to ensure proper installation and to validate the system warranty. Also, you or your plumber may contact our knowledgeable Customer Service and Support Representatives, if any questions arise regarding the installation or maintenance of your PureMaster V-750 system.
How much does it cost to install the complete PureMaster V-750 system?
The PureMaster V-750 system should be installed by a licensed plumber to ensure proper installation and to validate the system warranty. The typical PureMaster V-750 installation time is 1-2 hours and costs approximately $150 to $250 (Note: Actual cost depends upon your local plumbing rates).
How much maintenance is required for my PureMaster V-750 system?
Typically, the only maintenance required for the PureMaster V-750 system is 0.35-micron prefilter replacement. The PureMaster V-750 system is designed to be virtually maintenance free for the life of the system.
How do I replace my existing V-750 system after it is used up?
Some companies in the marketplace burden the consumer with the difficult, time-consuming and potentially costly task of emptying the old, dirty media from the used-up system tank, sanitizing the system tank for health-concerns and pouring in new media. Ultimately, we save you health and plumbing risks, time, hassle and money by offering you a completely new Ready-To-Install replacement system. The PureMaster V-750 system easily replaces any older V-750s. It is a simple matter of swapping out the old V-750 system "blue tank unit" with the new, Pre-Assembled (tanks come pre-loaded with advanced, special layered media) PureMaster V-750 replacement system "blue tank unit".
The PureMaster V-750 Replacement Tank can be installed by the homeowner or anyone with very basic plumbing experience to ensure proper installation necessary to validate the system warranty. The typical PureMaster V-750 system replacement time is about 1 hour and costs approximately $75 to $150 (Note: Actual cost depends upon your local plumbing rates), depending on your local plumbing rates.
We want to alert consumers that some companies are pitching a Replacement Media option (i.e., one or more bags of replacement media) in an attempt to lure unsuspecting consumers into buying the company's initial complete system, thinking that they will save money, time and effort over the long-run. Unfortunately, when it actually comes time to replace the media the consumer may be left "holding the bag" and end up facing potential health risks along with spending more money, personal time and inconvenience. Moreover, if the consumer decides to pay a plumber to handle the complete media replacement process, besides the potential health risks, the overall cost may end up being 2 to 3 times more than the advertised cost of the Replacement Media.
It is important to know that the proper process of emptying the tank, tank cleaning and disinfection, and pouring or layering of media is a laborious, time consuming and risky process. In reality, there are several potential challenges and health risks for the following reasons:
- Unit may weigh over 150 pounds, with water and saturated media when it expires, making it very challenging for the average person to handle and manipulate when performing the proper media replacement process;
- Unit may end up not being properly emptied, cleaned and disinfected;
- Expired media may contain concentrations of certain contaminants unhealthy for human contact;
- Bacteria or other contaminants may be introduced into the unit during the refill process;
- Replacement Media may end up not being poured and/or layered properly causing the unit to be less effective or even ineffective.
Consider that if the cost of a competing initial complete system is between $600 - $1500, one may wonder about the questionable value of the media itself, given that the cost of Replacement Media is only a small fraction (i.e., between $150 to $450) of the cost of the initial complete system. We are proud to say that the 7 Stages of media that go into our PureMaster V-750 (with 7+ years or 750,000 gallons capacity) represents the majority cost of both our Complete System and Replacement Unit.
For all these reasons, we do not use or recommend the Replacement Media approach. Instead, we provide our existing customers with a Pre-loaded and Ready-to-Install Replacement Unit that can quickly and easily replace their old unit simply by sliding out the old and sliding in the new with our easy PVC connectors. The best aspect of our Replacement Unit approach is that the homeowner or anyone with very basic plumbing experience can handle the simple replacement process; they can also have great confidence that when the process is completed that their new Replacement Unit will work properly without any of the previously mentioned potential challenges and health risks.
