Amaircare 3000 Portable HEPA Air Purifier (White)

Delivering 1 ACH for a 1688 sq. ft. area based on an 8 ft. ceiling height, the 3000 is complete with Amaircare®’s signature 3-stage filtration: carbon prefilter, HEPA filter and carbon inner filter. Six durable casters make it easy to move anywhere! Airflow is simple to operate with the 3-Speed Electronic Keypad Control, and the Filter Monitors remind you when it’s time to change the filters.

Units come in a choice of white or black.

You also have a choice in an immediate upgrade of the unit for much more efficient removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The 3000 Plus Annual Kit includes the VOC Canister, serving as an upgrade to your 3000 if you don't initially add that option.

How to Size

Air Changes per Hour (ACH)

How many times can all the air in an area/room(s) be cleaned through the filter each hour? (Sizes are in SQUARE feet.)

The above figures for ACH are based on 8' ceilings.
Generally speaking, the more air changes per hour (ACH) you can provide, the more effective a HEPA filter can be. Amaircare says 1 ACH (1688 sq ft) provides excellent air cleaning results, and that higher ACH (less sq ft) is recommended for people with sensitivities. Some air purification experts say 6 ACH (about 280 sq ft) should be the minimum (about 450 sq ft nets 4 ACH); they may be addressing people with those sensitivities with this recommendation.
Bottom line: More HEPA is better than less, but some HEPA is better than nothing at all.

Specifications

Any air filtration unit is only as effective as its filters permit (and, of course, the size of the area). Good air filtration has ongoing, periodic expenses, just like heating or cooling your home. Without the optional VOC Canister, you will need the Standard Annual Kit of filters, which include 3 carbon prefilters and 2 carbon inner filters.

Depending on the degree of impurities in the air that your 3000 is filtering, the first prefilter change will be necessary from three to six months after beginning use of the unit. We recommend you purchase this kit—or the Plus Annual Kit, if you've chosen the VOC Canister upgrade—along with your purchase of the 3000, or, at the latest, within a few months of beginning use of the 3000 to ensure continued efficient air purification.
